Over 30 cows have reportedly died in a mysterious circumstance in Akungba-Akoko, Akoko southwest local government area of Ondo state; SUNSHINETRUTH can report authoritatively.
An eyewitness account informed SUNSHINETRUTH reporter that the incident occurred on Monday evening at Ibaka area of the host community of the Ondo state-owned Adekunle Ajasin University.
The witness who explained that the cows and their herders who speak yoruba language, were said to be coming from Supare Akoko axis of Akoko when the cows suddenly fell one after the others and died near a bridge around AUD School, Ibaka Akungba.
SUNSHINETRUTH earlier gathered from the witness who is simply known as “Asiwaju Ojumo”, and posted thus this morning, “Good morning Akokos. Please some set of cows (about 30cows) were naturally death without knowing what kill them in Akungba yesterday, please guide your house hold not to buy cow meat in Akoko and it environment this week. God bless you.”
When contacted by our reporter, Ojumo said he it was alleged that “the cows might have eaten poisonous food or crop or grass or took poisonous water somewhere before getting to Akungba that night.”
“The most surprise thing is that, before the day break, the herders who are Ilorin fulani have contacted a big truck and packed all the dead cows.
“We suspect they want to go and sell them somewhere to unsuspecting consumers. We appeal to our people in Akoko to be careful with cow meat especially cheap one. Even they can be taken to Owo or Akure self.”
