Nurses mourn as ex-Ondo School of Midwifery Principal, Mrs Onifade dies at 89

A former Principal of the Ondo state School of Midwifery, Akure, Mrs F.C.B. Onifade, has passed away at the age of 89.

Mrs Onifade died yesterday’s evening.

Reacting to the death, the Ondo State Chapter of the National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives (NANNM) described late Mrs Onifade as a legendary midwife who had trained many health officials.

In the condolence message signed by the Chairman of the Association, Comrade Kehinde Olomiye, NANNM, said the deceased who died at the age of 89year-old lived an impactful life.

Olomiye noted that staff and old students of the Ondo state School of Midwifery, Akure as well as health workers and the people of the state would not forget in a quickly the huge contributions of late Mrs Onifade to the formal training of manpower for the health sector especially midwives.

“We received the demise of Mrs Onifade with mixed feelings of happiness and sadness as she lived a fulfilling life and served the humanity diligently,” Olomiye said.
