The Member of the House of Representatives representing Akoko North East/North West Federal Constituency of the National Assembly, Hon Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo has declared that Nigerians need to look inward for solutions to the problems facing the country.
The Chairman of the House Committee on Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) said this in his Eld-Il-Fitr Message to the Muslim community, signed by his Special Adviser on New Media, Alao Babatunde, on Thursday.
Tunji-Ojo urged Nigerians to consider what makes the country more than those that tend to break it.
The Muslim community completed a 30-day Ramadan fast yesterday.
According to the statement, “Eid-ul-fitr is a happy occasion for Muslims to feast and rejoice. It is also a day to say thanks to the Almighty Allah for all that he blesses us with. It is a festival of charity, it is a festival for self-introspection. Eid ul fitr has a deep spiritual significance for all.
“Self-introspection is an important component of the season. Nigeria must look inward to solve its problems.
“We must stay together in solidarity and win the battle against division and we must pay gratitude to the divine light for all the wonderful things around us.
“I congratulate the Muslim community for completing the Ramadan fast and I pray that Allah opens the doors of happiness and prosperity for us. May he place mercy upon all the Muslims all around the world on this happy occasion of Eid.
“Happy Eid to all my constituents and Nigeria at large,” Tunji-Ojo said.
