Report indicates fish sellers in Akure, the Ondo state capital are currently protesting at the Ondo state Governor’s office, Alagbaka Akure over maladministration of their Association’s leadership.
SUNSHINETRUTH learnt that the protest may not be unconnected with high cost of doing the business and imposition of obnoxious levies on them, seeking the state government’s intervention.
The protesters are mostly women who said the economic situation had made life unbearable for them.
It was also learnt that “one of their three colleagues died yesterday in Akure when demolished building fall on them while trying to escape payment of another association’s levy.”
The protesters who were mainly women are under the umbrella of Fish Sellers Association of Nigeria, Akure Chapter.
