June 12: Celebrate without threatening our Sovereignty —Ondo NOA tells citizens

As Nigeria celebrates this year’s June 12 Democracy Day, the Ondo state Acting Director of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Mrs Adelayo Adefolalu has cautioned the people of Ondo state to celebrate this year’s democracy day with all sense of modesty and maintain the peaceful coexistence by having respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of our dear country and the development of economic and cultural cooperation based on full equality and mutual benefit.

In a press statement made available to SUNSHINETRUTH in Akure , Mrs Adefolalu charged residents to shun constant hostility and embrace peace at all level all the time, she said the June 12 democracy day is symbolic to our democratic struggle which she described as a milestone and watershed in the democratic history of our dear Nation.

The press statement was signed by Signed Ralph Oguntibeju, Public and Media Relations Officer of NOA.

”Thou we have our peculiarities in terms of security challenges, demand for better deals and wake up call for good governance but any form of agitation that will threaten the unity and sovereignty of Nigeria must be totally avoided, We cant afford to tread the path of disunity as it will dash the hope we all long for and disrupt the legacy of our founding fathers”.

The NOA boss while congratulating Nigerians on the occasion of this year democracy day celebration urged the people to support the present administration in delivering dividends of democracy to the citizens of Nigeria and make it one united and indivisible entity.
