……. Unilorin VC congratulates new Olupo
The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Sulyman Age Abdulkareem, has congratulated the new Olupo of Ajase-Ipo, Barrister Ismail Yahaya Muhammed Atoloye, who is a distinguished alumnus of the University, on his well-deserved appointment.
The new monarch was said to have been born in 1980.
In a statement signed on his behalf by the institution’s Director of Corporate Affairs, Mr Kunle Akogun, the Vice-Chancellor expressed the joy of the management, staff and students of the nation’s most sought-after University on the selection of Barrister Atoloye by the Kwara State government for the exalted stool of his forebears.
Prof. AbdulKareem said that Barrister Atoloye’s appointment as the new Olupo is a confirmation of the enduring fact that the University of Ilorin is a veritable factory for the production of leaders for the various sectors of the society.
The Vice-Chancellor also commended the Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, for the approval of the choice of the people of Ajase-Ipo, while also appreciating the Kwara State Council of Emirs and Obas under the Chairmanship of the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji (Dr) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, CFR, as well as the Council of Kingmakers and the entire people of the ancient town of Ajase-Ipo for working towards the peaceful emergence of the renowned legal practitioner as the Olupo of Ajase-Ipo.
Prof. AbdulKareem urged the new monarch to see his emergence as a rare and great privilege, which must be employed towards the promotion of peace and development of the town, Igbominaland and Kwara State at large.
The Vice-Chancellor wished the new Olupo a very long, peaceful and rewarding reign over the good people of Ajase-Ipo.
