The Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, has blamed the increasing rate of Okada accidents in Ondo state on failure of riders to use their side mirrors properly.
To this effect, SUNSHINETRUTH reports that both commercial and private motorcyclists plying major roads and highways have been directed to always envisage the use of side mirrors in order to minimise road crashes and loss of lives.
The Corps Commander, the Federal Road Safety corps, Ore Division, Mr Segun Aladenika gave the directive while speaking with our Correspondent in the town on some of the remote causes of road accidents in Ore metropolis.
The FRSC boss reiterated his commitment to save souls of road users, noting that all hands have being on desk to tackle and deal decisively with any cyclist Odigbo local governnent without side mirrors as from next week.
While describing incessant road accidents in Ore metropolis as worrisome, Aladenika noted that many lives have been lost due to lack of side mirrors among Okada riders in the area.
A motorcyclist, Sunday George while highlighting the benefits of side mirrors in motorcycle maintained that it’s time for both the FRSC and the Nigerian Police to rise of their feet to curtail lack of or abuse use of side mirrors among commuters in Ondo State.
Two others who were not with their side mirrors pledged to affix it soon,claiming that they will do the needful before the enforcement by security agencies as promised.
