The Commissioner of Police, Ondo state Command, Mr Bolaji Salami has been asked to arrest for prosecution a suspected Gun Bearer, Ojo Komolafe for allegedly killing a villager and threatening the peace of a community in Odigbo local government area of the state.
Komolafe was alleged to have shot dead one Taofik Babalola Adedotun, with his unlicensed gun over the night at Ifara Paanu, within Koseru ward under the jurisdiction of Kajola Divisional Police officer.
According to a petition written to the Police Commissioner by the lawmaker representing Odigbo Constituency 2 in the state House of Assembly, Rt Hon Samuel Aderoboye, the DPO at Kajola station is not treating the murder allegation seriously since it was reported at the station.
In the petition obtained by SUNSHINETRUTH on August 7, 2021, Aderoboye who is also the Deputy Speaker of the state Assembly, said “Below is an information of what happened in my constituency Odigbo-2. In Ifara paanu,within Koseru ward under the jurisdiction of Kajola DPO.
“A notorious man in d village by name OJO KOMOLAFE who sometimes ago petition your men because they were not Supporting him in his act of molestations of our people shot a man TAOFIK BABALOLA ADEDOTUN dead with his unlicensed gun over d night at in d man owned House.
“Sir the case has been reported to DPO in Kajola for actions. It seems their not treating it as a matter of serious urgency. Kindly to the needful sir,as we believe in your leadership for making life meaningful, justices to d poor people,” said Rt Hon Revd Aderoboye.
Efforts to get the reaction of the suspect, Ojo Komolafe proved abortive, while the police command is yet to react as well.
