A member of the House of Representatives, Hon Abiola Peter Makinde from Ondo East and West Federal Constituency has continued his giant strides for his people as his latest achievement is the donation of operational vehicles to the Nigeria Police.
During the event, the federal lawmaker also issued loans amounting to millions of naira to his consistuents under the interest-free cooperative scheme in conjunction his amiable wife, Dr Rhoda Makinde, Convener of DROMI World.
A thousand questions must have been on the mind of the people and observers on thursday at the Yaba police station Divisional Headquarters, Ondo City, where Hon Abiola Peter Makinde, officially commissioned and handed over the patrol and response vehicles to the Nigeria Police Force as received by the state Commissioner of Police, Mr Bolaji Salami.

Present at the event were notable dignitaries alongside Hon Makinde who said the operational vehicles would go a long way in assisting the police force in the task of securing lives and property in his constituency.




Barely weeks after three students were sponsored for overseas education to the acceptance of thousands of consistuents, three to Norway another two helped to India for the same life-changing purpose, Hon Abiola Makinde and his wife have again beat the odds by delivering four patrol vehicles to the doorstep of the Nigeria Police Force and its four divisions across Ondo East and West, Yaba, Enu-owa, Fagun and Bolounduro divisions.
As if that wasn’t enough, immediately after the presentation of the patrol vehicles to the Nigeria Police Force, received by the Commissioner of Police, Ondo state, Hon Abiola Makinde proceeded to the Oba Adesanoye civic centre to commence issuance of interest-free loan under the cooperative scheme where consistuents, both young and old were given thousands of naira to be returned at zero interest and collateral, all done in good faith.
Before his speech at both events, Hon Abiola Makinde who is also the Deputy chairman, House Committee on Federal Character held a one minute silence for his late colleague, Hon Omolafe Adedayo aka Expensive, who represented Akure North and South Federal Consistuency and died Monday, while maintaining that though, he was mourning, the work of representation must continue.
Hon Makinde admonished the police authorities to adequately maintain the vehicles and not deviate from the purpose for which the vehicles were given to them which is to serve the Ondo people.
The Ondo State Police Commissioner, Former Ondo State Commissioner for local government & chieftancy affairs, Chief (Mrs) Deaconess Lola Fagbemi, the Chairmen of Ondo East and West Local governments, a representative of the Osemawe of Ondo kingdom, Oba Victor Kiladejo, DPOs from Okeigbo, Ile-Oluji, and the commandants of the Amotekun Security Network, Ondo state graced the event.
The Commisioner of Police, who led several other police hierarchy to the event thanked the good Honorable and expressed how this show of support will help the police, in no small measure, combat crime and continue to keep Ondo East and West safe and the whole state by extension.
The CP urged political leaders and well-meaning citizens to rise up to security situation as only with all hands on deck, can the police function maximally and reach their full potentials.
