A legal icon, Barrister Benson Enikuomehin has advocated quick dispensation of justice even as he officially opened a chamber at Tejuosho Main Market Entrance, by Tejuosho Avenue, Lagos.
The chamber, named Benson Enikuomehin & Co, Legal practitioner was opened amid pomp and pageantry.
The colourful event was attended by the crème de la cream in the legal profession.
In his speech at the event, Alagho of Odonla in Ondo state, Oba Elias Ikuomola said the law office will enhance legal services in Lagos state and its environs.
He described Enikuomehin as a lawyer with unique passion for the development of legal practice in Nigeria.
According to the monarch, the law firm will create jobs for young lawyers and other youths in Lagos state.
His words,” Barrister Enikuomehin is a refined lawyer whose has contributed to the development of legal profession”.
In his speech, the chairman of the occasion, Pastor Anthony Abeh, described the law firm as a standard outfit with well-equipped library.
Speaking at the event, Enikuomehin, a former Ondo State representative on the board of Niger Delta Development Commission, said the chamber is blessed with an array of experienced lawyers.
He called for speedy dispensation of justice to further strengthen the peoples’ confidence in the country’s judiciary.
He said the adjournment of cases to distant dates had led to delay in the dispensation of justice by the country’s judiciary.
“Sometimes, justice seekers are forced to stop coming to court, not because they don’t want justice but because they lose interest in the matter because of the years they spent in seeking justice .
“Once the trial had commenced in a case, no party should be entitled to more than four adjournments.
“Litigants want quick dispensation of justice; the court must ensure that cases are not unduly delayed”, he said
Might point of the event was the naming of Barrister Enikuomehin as the Bamofin of Tejuosho market.
