The Director General of the Ondo state Football Agency, ODSFA, Akin Akinbobola has reacted to report indicating the sack of the entire technical crew of the state owned football teams, Sunshine Stars and Sunshine queens football team.
Few days ago,the news broke that ODSFA will no longer required the services of the technical crew including the ball boys of the teams ahead of next league season.
Speaking with newsmen in Akure, Akinbobola said the move was to reposition the team,make it more compact for better performance in the next football season.
Akinbobola also said the release was not strange as the vision and target of the state government was to make the teams (sunshine stars and sunshine queens) better as pronounced by the state deputy governor Mr Lucky Ayedatiwa long ago.
The former Nigeria Premier league Board member added that the state owned teams will henceforth function in a more professional manner and more efficient.
Sunshine stars in the past battle with many challenges including administrative, financial and other technical issues which led to the disengagement and replacement of coaches, including Mr Gbenga Ogunbote Head of the football agency, owing of players wages and struggled to escape relegation from the just concluded NPFL season.
However a clause was included in the letter that anyone who is interested in occupying his position with the football agency should reapply.
