Okada Rider brutalizes, Rapes Two female passengers on Ore-Benin road

An Okada Rider who is a serial Rapist and robber named Ola Omogunwa, aged 23, has been nabbed for allegedly attacking, robbing and raping two women at Ofosu area, along Ore-Benin expressway in Ondo state.

SUNSHINETRUTH gathered that the Okada man was arrested following a tip off and intelligence report.

The State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, Funmi Odulami, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, (DSP) confirmed Omogunwa’s arrest.

The PPRO told newsmen in Akure while parading some suspects that, “On 17th of October 2021 at about 1300hrs, one Agida Moses of  Elebisere Rd, alongside with Madam Bolatito Adebayo, aged 35, of Gbangan Oke ofa, Ibadan Oyo State, who was seriously injured, reported at the station that she was brutalized, raped, robbed and left for dead by the commercial motorcyclist AKA Okada rider who conveyed her at Elebisere road enroute Karo camp (Ofosu).

“She added that the bike man along the way diverted into the bush, attacked and raped her having tied her to a tree and, thereafter, punctured her eyes with his motorcycle key and made away with the sum of One Thousand, Eight Hundred Naira (#1,800).

“The suspect named Ola Omogunwa, aged 23, was later arrested on intelligence. One phone, necklace and other valuables belonging to the victim were recovered from the suspect.

“The suspect confessed to have committed the crime. Similarly, the suspect using same modus operandi was reported on the  28th of March, 2021 by one Mrs Ibitayo Agnes aged 45, to have robbed her of the sum of one hundred and twelve thousand naira and raped her along Owobanbo road (Ofosu area) having beaten her to coma and inflicted injuries on her eyes.”

According to the police spokesperson, another suspect that specializes in robbing POS operators is also in Police custody.

The suspect, One Nelson Ibideji allegedly approached Alomaja Temitope, a POS operator, and collected the sum of N100,000 under the guise of transferring the amount to the victim’s account.

“He immediately sped off with the money, but however ran out of luck as he was  arrested by Police Mobilemen who were on duty around the scene.

“He confessed to have scammed alot of POS operators using the same style.

He will be charged to court accordingly.”


The PPRO said all the suspects will be charged to court after investigations.
