The vision of the Governing Council and the Management of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo was given a boast on infrastructural development as the National Insurance Commission on Tuesday, 26th October, 2021 commissioned a building donated to the institution.
In an atmosphere of Joy, the Rector of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic,owo Mr.Ogundahunsi Gani Adebola having welcomed the representatives of the National Insurance Commission, (NAICOM) ably led by Otunba Adelaide Adeniranye said that the gesture extended to RUGIPO will go in a long way to facilitate teaching and learning in the institution.
He pledged that the building will be judiciously utilised and like Oliver Twist also used the occasion to request for the Commission’s further assistance in furnishing the building.
In an elated manner,he expressed the deepest gratitude of the Governing Council under the headship of Banji Alabi Esq, Management, Staff and Students of the institution to the Commission.
While responding,Otunba Adelanke Adeniranye who led the team from the National Insurance Commission commended the Governing Council, the rector and his Management team and also opined that the support from the commission is part of its resolve to achieve one of its mandate in promoting insurance education and other related subjects towards achieving human capital development as contained in section 19(c) of the NAICON Act 1997.
He acknowledged the support of the Governing Board of National Insurance Commission in the pursuit of its initiatives to the institution and also eulogised the persuasive leadership of the Commission’s chairman, Chief Jeff Nwosu who by his sincere commitment to the goals of the Commission had made it possible for some of the members of the Board of Directors of NAICON to grace this epoch making ceremony.
Whilst commissioning the building, Otunba Adeniranye dedicates it to the use of the Students and to the glory of God.
