The Ondo State security Network Agency, Amotekun Corps on Tuesday apprehended 18 wanderers suspected to be constituting security threat from the northern part of the country on Arakale road, Akure, the State capital, while 30 others are still on the run.
Parading them in Akure, the Commander of Amotekun Corps, Chief Adetunji Adeleye said the 18 men were first sighted along Ilesa-Akure road and was trailed to Arakale road inside a trailer with full load of beans
“Our men while on duty saw a suspeted vehicle with load of beans and the trailed the vehicle to Akure. They stopped along Arakale road while searching the vehicle we realised they were not carrying only beans but met 18 young men.
“We asked them where they were going to they did not know their destination as some of them said Sokoto and another said from Jigawa state.
“We took them to our office gave them food to eat and called on the Head of Hausa community in Ondo state to take them back to their various destination.
“We felt they could constitute neuisance in the state as we are in the trail on 30 others because we where told they have come ahead before them,” Adeleye said.
Bala Umaru, leader of Hausa Community in the state and Usman Bello, Chairman Miyetti Allah said they have decided to take them back to their various states, and thanked the state government for providing them with assistance.
