….it is time to move ahead and unite for a more prosperous Isikan community – High Chief Henry Adeyeye

…Gbenga Ojo will do better in Nollywood Movies – Deji’s Palace

Just like his predecessor, High Chief Olu Ojo, the new Iralepo of Isikan community in Akure, High Chief Henry Gbenga Adeyeye yesterday attended his first Deji in-council meeting as the Iralepo of Isikan community in Akure.

The new Iralepo thanked the Deji and the people of Isikan for giving peace a chance even in the face of unwarranted provocations and spurious attempts to twist facts.

The new Iralepo described as false, the allegation that he was foisted on the people of Isikan.

He described the purported selection process as a mere charade and a calculated attempt to twist facts on the reasons why he was sighted at the venue of the purported selection.

High Chief Gbenga Adeyeye said he was informed and invited for a peace meeting among all the contestants. He was however, surprised to find out that it was a selection process.

“I was the choice of the Isikan people and the Deji as the consenting authority gave his approval. So, I don’t see why my brother, Gbenga Ojo should still go ahead and declare himself what he is not. I know that in a contest like this, it might require a little while to pacify those who are aggrieved by the process.

“But I can assure you that with all hands on deck, I will ensure that Gbenga Ojo alongside other aggrieved Isikan people is pacified so we can continue to live together in harmony. I have a human face and I can understand some of his grievances. Let me assure you that this will be addressed in no distant time so that my brother will be retrace his steps.

The new Iralepo affirmed that the issue of making the Iralepo of Isikan a recognized Chief will be amicably discussed and resolved with the Deji.

The Deji is the paramount Ruler of Akure Kingdom and that is the position of the law and traditions, we will continue to dialogue with His Imperial Majesty for his consent. High Chief Adeyeye said he cannot afford to toe the path of illegality just like Mr. Gbenga Ojo had decided to do.

Meanwhile the Chief Press Secretary to the Deji of Akure, Mr. Adeyeye Michael has described the purported coronation being planned by Mr. Gbenga Ojo as a comedy taken too far. He described the move as a mere self-imposition.

Describing him as the Comedian of the year said his actions could only be accommodated in the Nigerian Nollywood movies. You can imagine a purported traditional Ruler without any instrument of office.

He should inform the public of how many Traditional Rulers of his acclaimed status that will be attending his illegal coronation. It is sad that Mr. Gbenga Ojo choses to reduce and demean the traditional institution, making mockery of it by illegally installing himself.

Mr. Adeyeye urges him to immediately join the Nollywood veterans where he would perform better like the Oga Bello, Odunlade Adekola, Jide Kosoko among others who usually act the role of Traditional Rulers in home movies.

He urged those behind the drama to have a rethink and remember that the full arms of the law will catch up with them in no distant time.

The new Iralepo of Isikan was warmly received by the Deji and all the Quarter Chiefs in Akure Kingdom.

The Deji had on 4th of October approved the appointment of High Chief Gbenga Henry Adeyeye of the Aruwolasi Iralepo family of Isikan in Akure as the new Iralepo of Akure Kingdom and he succeeds Late High Chief Olu Ojo who joined his ancestors on 3rd February, 2021.

The Iralepo of Isikan and the Osolo of Isolo belongs to the Iaare Group of Chiefs in Akure.
