A lawmaker representing Akure constituency 11 in the Ondo State House of Assembly, Hon Sunday Olajide has described as deserving the doctorate degree of law conferred on Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN by Ajayi Crowder University, Oyo.
Olajide in a statement said the contribution of Governor Akeredolu to the law profession cannot be wished away as he has made his mark in legal profession before venturing into politics.
He said Governor Akeredolu’s record of defence of human right, advocate of rule of law and independence of judiciary are parts of the reasons for conferment of the doctorate degree of law.
The lawmaker said the performance of Akeredolu as a former President of Nigeria Bar Association(NBA), and his contributions to development of legal jurisprudence earned him the honorary causa of law at Ajayi Crowder University.
Olajide, who is the Chairman of Finance and Appropriations Committee of the House of Assembly said reward for hard work is more work, advising the governor not to relent in his efforts at developing the land and the people.
The lawmaker congratulated the governor, the first family and the people of the state for the honour bestowed on Governor Akeredolu.
He advised the people of the state to cooperate with the governor to bring more development and deliver on his promises to the good people of the state.
