In a quest to ensure full security of life and property in Ondo State, the new Commissioner of Police for the state, Mr Oyeyemi Oyediran, has pledged to work with all legally constituted security agencies in the state.
Some of the legally constituted agencies are Amotekun Corps, NSCDC, military among others.
Assuming office at police headquarters, Igbatoro road, Akure, Mr Oyediran said he was in the state to ensure the people of the state to collaborate with other stakeholders in order to ensure people sleep with both eyes closed.
He said the command would work will recognised security agencies in the state within the ambit of the law.
According to him, “We need the support of everyone in the state to fight crime. I assure you that you will sleep with both eyes closed.
“I am ready to work with all stakeholders that will make Ondo State safe. We are ready to work with other security agencies under the law.”
“Giving human right abuse by our officers a critical look, you would obverse that the rate is on the decrease.
“But we will continue to lecture and retrain them till this becomes a thing of the past.,” Oyediran said.
Mr Oyediran who had undergone training in war against kidnapping and terrorism in the United States of America, charged Nigerians to be patient, saying kidnapping, banditry and terrorism would be over before long judging by efforts of the Federal Government in tackling the menaces.
He called on the people of the state to avail the Police and all appropriate security agencies information on suspicious movements in their areas for immediate intervention.
Speaking on the human right abuse being perpetrated by some officers, the police commissioner said the rate of the incident has dwindled.
