The Joint border control of Ondo State security network codenamed Amotekun and its counterpart in osun state has rescued nine persons from the kidnappers den along Akure-Ilesa-Ibadan expressway.
The victims who were kidnapped on Friday night (Yesterday) were rescued on Saturday along ipetumodu axis in osun state
The nine rescued victim were Godwin, Stephen, Monday Omolora, Emmanuel, Kolawole, Busayo, Joseph Balogun, Arinze.
The Commander of the Ondo State Security Network Agency also known as Amotekun, Chief Adetunji Adeleye while speaking with newsmen said they were able to rescue the victim base on the distress call they received on their emergency line.
“At about 10:30 pm yesterday night, we received a distress call on our emergency line that a bus conveying occupants were kidnapped and immediately we swing into action and at about 1am this morning we are able to track the kidnappers to a particular den where the victim were rescued.
The Amotekun Boss, while recounting how the victim were kidnapped said, they left Lagos at about 5pm and were hooked up in a traffic congestion until 10:30pm
“Unknowingly to the driver of the bus the ‘security men’ who were on the road were kidnappers, before realizing that, it was too late, any attempt for the victim to run away proved abortive, because they had already spread themselves and were able to direct them into the forest.
“They started collecting their phones and calling the phone numbers of their relatives to contact them for ransom, when we get to the scene of the incident, they had ran away we found out that it was a regular dump area for kidnapped victim.
Adeleye stated that that the corps don’t want to put pressure by tracking the kidnappers but to rescue the victim first
He noted that the rescued victims were receiving medical attention
He however promised to fish out the kidnappers and provide transport fare for the rescued victims to reunite with thier families
One of the rescued victim, Ife Balogun who was on a journey to visit her grandma before the incident, said she had to run for her dear life when the incident happened
“I slept in an unknown area till this morning when the Amotekun corps came to rescue us“ She said
