AAUA damage fee: Akeredolu’s Aide Ogunyemi wades in, meets stakeholders

SSA YOUTH AND STUDENTS’ AFFAIRS MEETS WITH UNIVERSITY MANAGEMENT AND STUDENTS’ LEADERS TO RESOLVE FEE PAYABLE FOR DAMAGES IN AAUA

The SSA to Mr. Governor, on youths and students affairs Hon. Muyiwa Ogunyemi EYIYATO today met with the university management and students’ leaders of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko in a meeting which lasted for hours to resolve  lingering concerns with regards to fee payable by students as a result of the damages caused  during a recent unrest when some unscrupulous elements took advantage of the “no tuition fees no exam  directives of the school management to wreck havoc on several  properties of the institution.


While addressing pressmen after the meeting, Ogunyemi stated that all concerns and agitations have been duly looked into and addressed.

Thus, the university management is expected to give new directives within the next 48 hours to reflect the consensus arrived at which will undoubtedly ameliorate the current situation. 
In his  words, ” The intervention was necessary to douse further tension.

….Mr. Governor is interested in a system that works for all and has always put students and their welfare first”.“My concerns are to ensure  a cordial relationship between the students, management and the government.”


While welcoming all AAUA students back to the campus, he encouraged them  to shun any act of violence saying that the resultant effect will always impact the students community negatively..

While also charging  them to continually  pursue academic and moral excellence  for the betterment of our dear state.


Present at the meeting alongside the university management were; the Students’ Union Government led by Comrade Ogunsanmi Kolade Olumide (Multiple), NAOSS Global President; Comrade Mary Ogunga, NAOSS Senate President; comrade Oyelade Olawale and members of their cabinets.
