ONDO COMMISSIONER INSPECTS BURNT WAREHOUSE, ASSURES SPEEDY COMPLETION OF FACILITY
Ondo State Commissioner for Agriculture and Forestry, Mr. Olayato Aribo, has assured people of the State that the ongoing renovation of Central Depot Warehouse, located in Oke Eda area of Akure, that was set ablaze by irate youths during the ENDSARS protest, would be completed soon.
According to him, the warehouse is the largest in the State and is used to store fertilizers and other agrochemicals, owned by Agric Inputs Supply Agency (AISA), which is one of the components of Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry.
Mr. Aribo said all necessary materials needed for timely completion of the facility are in place and expressed satisfaction at the level of work done so far. According to him “We have started renovating the structure, all we need is to finish on time.”
The Commissioner also reiterated his commitment towards improved internally generated revenue, through hard work and development of technology at control posts to monitor truck movement at the boarders, which he said would assist the government to know total numbers of trucks that made use of the state’s boarders.
He spoke further that the government is proposing to review tariff paid at the control posts, because the fee is long overdue for review.
The Commissioner was conducted round the damaged facility by the Secretary of the Agency, Mrs. Olufunke Ogunlade, who said structural test has been carried out by engineers and they are working assiduously to put the facility in place.
Ogunlade therefore appreciated the Commissioner for coming to inspect the facility.
