NACAS ELECTORAL COMMITTEE BRIEFS SSA TO THE GOVERNOR ON YOUTHS AND STUDENTS AFFAIRS:
In a recent development , following the preparation of the four local government areas of Akoko students apex body’s election, the electoral committee today (Wednesday) paid a visit to the office of the SSA.
During the meeting which lasted for about 2 hours, the committee members briefed Hon. Muyiwa Ogunyemi EYIYATO about their forthcoming elections and also discussed other issues being faced by their association.
Top among salient issues discussed is how to improve the welfare of every Akoko student across all tertiary institutions while they also committed to ensuring a free, fair and credible election in order to produce quality leadership which will satisfy the yearnings and aspirations of her members.
Hon. Muyiwa Ogunyemi EYIYATO while addressing the committee said it is the expectation of the government that associations and unions will continue to conduct themselves in proper manners and bring to honor the state with respect to the good values we are known for.
In the SSA’s words, “Mr. Governor wants to continue to be proud of every student and their conducts. Elections should be a test of the will of the people and should be simple, honorable, free and fair without which there can not be any solid development in our society.
He also wished the committee all the best in its dogged determination to bring into play the core principles of democracy in the forthcoming election.
While appreciating the committee members for taking the risk to travel down from far and wide for the courtesy visit, the governor’s Aide assured them that he will look into all issues raised and that government will provide leadership whenever required.
