The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) in Ondo State has organised a cocktail party to honour four members of the association, appointed by Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu into his cabinet.
The appointed members are: Dr Banji Ajaka, the State Commissioner for Health and Professor Francis Faduyile, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Health Matters.

Others are Dr Ajibayo Adeyeye, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Strategy, Political and Legislative Matters, as well as Dr Olusegun Ategbole, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Regional Integration and Diaspora Relations.

The appointees were given different awards of recognition by the association.
Speaking at the event, the Chairman of NMA in the state, Dr Stella Adegbehingbe explained that the party was organised in recognition of four members of the association.
Adegbehingbe noted that the occasion will afford doctors in the state opportunity to be familiar with themselves, interact, wine and dine together to make the association better in the state.
She asked the appointed members to put doctors’ welfare and wellbeing as priority, promising that NMA will support them to succeed in their various positions.
Also speaking, the State Commissioner for Health, Dr Banji Ajaka appreciated the NMA for the recognition, suggesting that the association should organise a quarterly forum for constant interaction and discussion by members of the association.
He commended Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu for the appointment, saying it was the first administration in the state that will have four NMA members in the government.
Ajaka said, “we need this kind of interaction to discuss issues that have to do with our members’ welfare. Our government is committed to making life better for the entire workforce”.
The Commissioner used the occasion to inform the people that over 50 cases of Lassa Fever have been recorded in the state in 2022.
