Akure Reps Bye-election: Winner emerges in APC primary

Winner has emerged in today’s APC Akure North/South federal constituency Bye-election Primary.

The aspirants included Abiodun Derin Adesida, Ademola Adegoroye, Ifedayo Abegunde, Sunday Olajide, Mayokun Lawson-Alade, Dennis Fadairo, Owoyemi Emmanuel and Omowunmi Olatunji-Ohwovoriole.

Lawson-Alade emerged the winner

Alade Lawson won the All progressives congress APC bye-election ahead of the February 26th bye- election into the vacant seat of the Akure north/South federal constituency.

The election which took place at the Dome Igbatoro Akure has eight contestants vying for the same seat.

Alade won the election with 305 votes to defeat other 7 contestants.

Declaring the winner,the chairman electoral committee and the deputy governor of Anambra state Mr Nkem Okeke said the election process was peaceful charging other aspirants to unite ahead of the February 26th election.

The bye- election followed the recent demise of Mr Isaac Adedayo Omolafe, PDP House of Representatives member representing Akure north/south federal constituency.
