The Ondo state Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, has inaugurated new executives of the Union at State Ministry of Information chapel.
The inauguration followed an election in which all the contestants won unopposed.
The new executives were; Ayo Falana as the Chairman, Charles Ayodeji Fatoki, Vice Chairman; Augustine Adeoye, Secretary; Lanre -Cole Bankole, Assistant Secretary; while Mrs Debbie Funmilayo and Dare Ajibola won the positions of Treasurer and Financial Secretary respectively.
The State Secretary of the Union, Comrade Leke Adegbite sworn-in the new executives, while the State Chairman of the Union Comrade Adetona Aderoboye, congratulated the executives and members of the chapel for speaking with one voice to elect their officers.
Aderoboye who was represented by the state Vice Chairman, Hakeem Gbadamosi, charged the new executives to discharge their duties in line with the union’s constitution and foster the unity of the chapel, while not forgetting to contribute meaningfully to the growth of the chapel, the state council and the nation body as a whole.
In his acceptance address, the newly elected Chairman of the Chapel, Mr Ayo Falana, promised to pursue rigorously, the welfare of the members, promising to be a servant-leader..
He appreciated the members for the confidence reposed in him and other executive members, revealing that he would introduce programmes that would consolidate on the unity of the union, which woukd endear the union to the hearts of all.
Earlier, the Chairman of the chapel’s electoral committee, NUJECO, Mr Victor Adegbehingbe, said the committee was pleased to announce the winners, having reached a consensus and satisfied the stipulated requirements for their positions.
Former State Council’s Vice Chairman, Alhaji Bisi Agboola; a former Chairman of the chapel, Pastor Tony Adetoye, among hosts of members who came out enmasse to grace the event.
