Achievers University matriculates 614 fresh Students, tasks them to be Studious

It was a celebration galore and beginning of new academic journey on Friday as Achievers University, Owo, Ondo State matriculated 614 fresh students into the institution, with a call on them to be studious during their stay at the University.

The event which was the 15th since the inception of the institution, was graced by the Pro-Chancellor Hon (Dr) Bode Ayorinde; Vice Chancellor Engr. Prof. Samuel Olabanji, the Registrar, Rev. Canon Oladimeji; the Acting Bursar Mr Olagoke Akanwo, and the Acting University Librarian, Mrs D. C Ogbuiyi among other dignitaries and parents of matriculants.

In his remark, the Pro Chancellor of the institution, Dr. (Hon) Bode Ayorinde while congratulating the new matriculants, also appreciated thier parents for making Achievers University a choice.

Ayorinde encouraged the new matriculants to concentrate on thier study, adding that the achievement they will make depend on thier choice.

The Pro-Chancellor however urged the matriculants not to suffer in silence, and report any form of intimidation within the campus to the appropriate bodies.

Also, a Special Guest of honour at the event, Prince Dapo Adenekan encouraged to new students to make sure the University pass through them and take Entrepreneurship very important.

The Vice Chancellor of the Institution, Prof. Samuel Olabanji Aje said it is the 15th Matriculation ceremony since the Inception of the citadel of knowledge, noting that, it is thing of joy to be celebrated positively.

Aje also urged the newly admitted students to imbibe the habit of reading always, and study efficiently for them to achieve great feats in their academics.

In his speech, the Guest speaker and Alumnus of the institution, Mr  Wisdom Otaru Oniwon spoke on the topic: “My Dream, the dream admonished the students to utilize every time any opportunity they have to achieve their aim.

“This is the beginning of a unique phase in your life, and honestly, it will be memorable and filled with lifelong friendships, network of associations, and some wear and tear that will put you in shape to run with Knowledge, Integrity and Leadership.

Otaru, while speaking on the 7 nuggets of wisdom (Dream, Focus, Passion humility, healthy living, setting standard) urged the matriculants to always take one step at a time till they get to the top.

The Guest Speaker however implored the Matriculants to always Stay focused on thier dream.
