What we’re doing on upgrading of Monarchs —Ondo govt

…..As Aiyedatiwa declares his wonderful relationship with Gov Akeredolu

Ondo State Deputy Governor, Hon Lucky Aiyedatiwa has announced that the much awaited upgrading of some Obas and Traditional Rulers in the State was underway.

Aiyedatiwa made this revelation when the new Executives of 130 Crowns Club led by their President, HRM Oba Samuel Adeoye Edema, the Malokun of Atijere paid him a familiarization visit in his Office on Thursday.

The upgrade of Monarchs in the State became necessary to further bring government closer to the people, he said.

Other monarchs on the visit are,

  • Vice President
    HRH, Oba Isaac Sunday Adeyeye, the Alale of Akungba Akoko.
  • Former President
    HRH, Oba Dr Omoniyi Olufunmilayo , the Akapinsa of Ipinsa.
  • Secretary
    HRH , Oba Rotimi Obamuwagun, the Olumoru of Imoru.
  • Treasurer
    HRH, Oba Folagbade Ojo, the Onibuji of Ibuji.
  • Ex-Officio
    HRH , Oba Oluwafemi Adeluwoye, the Asuada of Isuada.
  • HRH, Oba Jayeoba Alabi, the Owa of Araromi.
  • HRH, Oba Raphael Oyedele JP, the Olu of Igbobini.
  • HRH, Oba Festus Oyedele Olumoyegun, the Oniju of Iju-Odo.
  • HRH, Oba ( Snr Apostle ) Babatunde Agbadero JP, the Onimeri of Imeri.
  • HRH, Oba Dauda Joel Sunday, the Oluyani of Iyani.

In his words, Aiyedatiwa said, “presently, we are working on a document that have to do with recognition, upgrading and disputed titles or Chieftaincy in the State” .

“And there is no doubt that disputed issues will not be resolved, recognition will be given to new ones and upgrading will also be looked into,” the Deputy Governor disclosed.

While soliciting for cooperation from the Monarchs, the Deputy Governor said the present administration was committed to continuous support and collaborations with Obas and Traditional Rulers in the State.

Aiyedatiwa equally commended his relationship with Mr Governor which he described as wonderful.

“For me, i am having a wonderful relationship with our Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN, because we are operating one government, one administration” , he said.

Earlier, the President of 130 Crowns Club, Oba Samuel Adeoye discussed their developmental needs of which the Deputy Governor promised that all the issues raised by the traditional rulers would be addressed satisfactorily within the limited resources available.

At the event with Deputy Governor are Commissioner of Energy, Mines and Mineral Resources, Engr Rasaq Obe, Deputy Chief of Staff, Prince Segun Omojuwa, Press Secretary to Governor, Office of Deputy Governor, Kenneth Odusola-Stevenson and Special Assistant to Governor on New Media, Ladi Okunniga.
