….Akeredolu, Monarchs, others witness historic Event

It was a red letter day in the ancient Town of Ikare, in Akoko North East Local Government Area of Ondo State, as Oba. Adeleke Adefemi Adegbite-Adedoyin II, the Owa-Ale of Ikare-Akoko, celebrated his first coronation anniversary amidst pomp and pageantry.
The epoch-making event which was well attended by top government dignitaries, prominent traditional rulers from Ondo State especially Akokoland, captain of industries, legal practitioners among other social classes, was held on Saturday at the Town’s A.U.D Secondary school.
The revered royal father, last year, ascended the throne of his ancestors after the demise of the late Owa-Ale, Oba Samuel Kolapo Adegbite- Adedoyin, who reigned for 48years.
Speaking at the occasion, the State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, expressed delight over the prevailing tranquility in the commercial Town, while he also applauded residents for distancing themselves from dissolute and degrading aspects of human nature.
The Governor who was represented by Rt. Hon Olotu-Aburumaku Abdulfatai, the Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, described the coronation anniversary as historic in the annals of traditions.
The Governor noted that ikare has been progressing in all sphere by leaps and bounds barely one year of installation of Owa-Ale.
However, he urged residents to be law abiding and should conduct themselves with propriety, adding that the State Government is committed to the unfettered development of the commercial nerve.
In his short address, the Chairman of the Occasion and C.E.O of Niiman Hotel and Suites, Alh. Babatunde Ojo, stated that the anniversary was special, maintaining that the Monarch’s resolve on consolidating on his late father’s legacies has given ikare a edge above her contemporaries.
In an address, the Owa-Ale extolled the visionary leadership of Gov. Akeredolu, stressing that Ikare is enjoying the milk of human kindness of the State Government.
