Result of Ilaje/Ese-Odo Reps APC primary symbolizes Unity —Donald Ojogo

Press Statement

Ilaje/Ese-Odo Reps:
It’s Our Collective Ticket, Ojogo tells co-aspirants

Last night, majority of the delegates of our great party, the APC, picked me through Party Primary, as flag-bearer of our party for next year’s Federal Constituency election in Ilaje/Ese-Odo.

The primary election was a significant statement of UNITY, and indeed, signalled the strong bond established in our Federal Constituency. This loud acceptance from the good people of Ilaje, Ijaw-Apoi and Arogbo-Ijaw symbolises renewed cohesion; it is a new chapter, with reinvigorated hope, confidence and deepened trust. Our faith of liberation and genuine development is rekindled. The journey to greatness has just begun.

I give all glory to God Almighty for His love and Faithfulness. May His name be praised forever. I must express my sincere appreciation to our amiable Governor, father of all and leader of our great party, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu,SAN, for providing leadership. We are immensely grateful to Mr Governor whose uncommon candour and total respect for fairness and equity stand him out. He is a compassionate mentor, a builder of leaders and a great Pathfinder.

I thank all our leaders in Ilaje/Ese-Odo for standing with the party and providing political direction for the people. I thank our Deputy Governor, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa; Chief Olusola Oke, (SAN), National Vice Chairman (South West), Hon Isaacs Kekemeke, Ondo State Chairman of the APC, Engr. Ade Adetimehin and many others too numerous to mention here.

My own Senior High Chief Bibopiri Ajube, the IBEBELEUKORIWEI(Asiwaju) of Arogbo-Ijaw Kingdom deserves a special place in this history-making situation in our dear Federal Constituency. His incurable quest for peace, justice and development is highly commendable. His ingenious intervention at the most critical times, especially in my domain, created this path of greatness.

To my co-contestants, what we had was a friendly scramble and not a bitter contest. We  maintained a friendly relationship throughout our campaigns prior to the primary. For me, there is no loser; we all won because the party ticket is our collective heritage. The victory belongs to us all and our party.

We are brothers with common goals and commitment to the development of our Federal Constituency. I cannot do it alone. I need you more than ever before. Of course,  I need you more than you could ever need me this season. We can only forge ahead in unity and trust. We must remain one indivisible family in order to bring back the glory of our Federal Constituency.

I appreciate all the delegates-from Ilaje, Apoi and Arogbo. You have spoken. It is a new beginning and the journey to salvage our federal constituency has begun. This is time for even greater work. We must come together to create a formidable team. The job ahead can only be easy if we work together as one. In this regard, the days of intra-party intrigues and campaigns are over. I’m now blind and deaf to  stories of those who had reasons not to vote for me. UNITED WE STAND!

I thank you all and I remain eternally grateful.

Signed:

Donald Ojogo
