Breaking: Atiku rejects Wike, settles for Okowa

The Presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, has announced Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State as his running mate in the 2023 presidential election.

He made the announcement on Thursday via his social media handles.

This means that Atiku has rejected the nomination of Rivers State governor, Nyemson Wike in favour of Okowa.

Abubakar posted, “I am delighted to announce Governor Ifeanyi A. Okowa as my Vice Presidential candidate.

“I look forward to travelling our great country together, engaging with all Nigerians and building a shared future of peace, unity, and prosperity for all. As One We Can Get It Done. #OneNigeria.”

Earlier, Okowa was welcomed to the PDP’s headquarters in Abuja on Thursday with congratulatory remarks.

Okowa was at the PDP Headquarters to attend the party’s Vice Presidential screening.
