Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, Tanko Muhammad has stepped down from office for health reasons.
Muhammad’s resignation was confirmed by his Special Assistant on Media and Strategy, Mr Ahuraka Yusuf Isah.
Other attempts to reach close associates of the CJN, such as Dr Mike Ozekhome (SAN), proved abortive as they didn’t take their calls.
Justice Olukayode Ariwoola will later today Monday be sworn-in as the next Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) after the sudden resignation of Justice Tanko Muhammad from the exalted Judicial position.
