Glamour as Akeredolu unveils Sunshine Stars new Jerseys

THRILLS, FUN AND GLAMOUR, AS GOV AKEREDOLU UNVEILS SUNSHINE STARS FC NEW JERSEYS.

It was thrills, fun and glamour as Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN represented by his Deputy, Hon Lucky Aiyedatiwa unveiled the new jerseys for the Sunshine Stars and Sunshine Queens Football Clubs on Wednesday.

The epoch making event was held at the International Culture and Events Center, The Dome, in Akure.

While given credence to Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN for his unflinching support for the two State owned football clubs, Aiyedatiwa said football was a veritable business if properly managed administered.

“This is one of the reasons why Mr Governor had mandated my committee to look around for credible partners who can be brought on board to partner the two State owned football clubs as it is seen in other developed climes”.

Continued, the football loving Deputy Governor said, “the interim committee has been working in line with this mandate and today is one of the actualization of such private collaboration” .

“Sunshine Stars and Sunshine Queens Football Clubs are now being kitted by Future Horizon Company and today, we are all here to witness the formal unveiling/Launching of the jerseys” , he said.

Leading the naira rain for the new jerseys were Barrister Jimoh Ibrahim CFR, Senior Chief Ajube, the State chapter of ALGON, Traditional Rulers and some other football loving people in the State with their fantastic financial donations to the clubs.

Speaking further, Aiyedatiwa revealed that the clubs are poised to collaborate with other private interests to get official corporate brand sponsors who would be interested in supporting the teams.

Responding to this challenge, business mogul who is also the chief launcher of the new jerseys, Barrister Jimoh Ibrahim CFR disclosed that his companies are ready to partner and collaborate with the State darling Clubs.

Meanwhile, the set target for Sunshine Stars FC to go continental next season was still achievable.

“The set target of the Interim Management Committee is that Sunshine Stars FC must be on the continent come next season”.

“We are seriously pursuing this target and it is our hope that the new jerseys being unveiled today will further boost the morale of the players and they will do all within their possible ability to be one of the first three clubs on the Nigeria Premier League table at the end of the year 2021/2022 season” , declared Aiyedatiwa.

The Deputy Governor equally commended the Management, Board and the Team of the two clubs for their efforts so far in ensuring that Sunshine Stars FC remain at the top spot where they belong and also thanked them for their cooperation with OSFA management committee led by him.
