Akeredolu loves, treats our officers like his biological children —says Amotekun Boss

…..Security Network begins training of newly Recruited officers

The newly recruited officers of the Ondo State Security Network Agency codenamed Amotekun Corps have been advised to desist from acts that can undermine the agency but to rather add values to uplift the agency and show deeper commitment towards ending crimes in the state.

State Commander of the Amotekun Corps, Akogun Adetunji Adeleye, gave the charge during the training and resumption on Camp of the 400 third batch (BRT 003) men and officers held at the Government Technical College in Owo Tuesday July 26, 2022.

Adeleye, who is also the Special Adviser to the Governor on security matters, while urging them to be good Ambassadors of the state wherever they are posted to, congratulated them, saying they won’t regret the journey they have begun.

The commander said Governor Rotimi Akeredolu loves and treat Amotekun officers like his biological children.

According to him, “Your predecessors didn’t regret this, you also will not, you will do everything with ease.

“There’s no Amotekun officer that doesn’t receive his or her salary before the end of the month or goes hungry for being on a night duty.

“The Akeredolu-led administration has been passionate to us. our Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu treats us as if we are his biological children and someone who does that for us shouldn’t be disappointed at us.

“You have the mandate to uplift Amotekun. I remember when we first started, we caught 100 thieves and by then, we hardly prosecute.

“We had no power then to take anyone to court, but today, we do that directly, there’s nothing like bail, anyone that commits a crime will face the wrath of the law”, he said.

Speaking further, the Amotekun Commander stated, that their training and retraining is a continuous process.

Adeleye said, “This orientation and training you want to embark on now, I won’t tell you how long it will take, when I tell you to submit your phones and I mistakenly see it with you, you are in for it.

“Hold your phone for the next three days, call your wives and children, tell them you want to do some works, they should endure for the next one month.

“So when next you have get the order to use your phone, then you can, keep to the rules of the corps as directed by your leaders.

“lt’s not about punishment, it’s for you to know that it’s for our own benefit. The moment we have CCTV installed all over public places, it will give consciousness to the criminals that they will be noticed, identified, seen and this will deter a lot of them.

“And to those of them that are deterrent, we can assure you that with all these devices, we will get hold of them.

“So, I want to appeal to members of the public that despite the harsh economic situation of the country, they should strive to adhere strictly to the deadline as given by the government that all public places must have CCTV installed and these CCTV must be functional, so that security agencies demands for it as the need arises, they will be able to give the recordings to them.

“It is our sincere hope that you will obey all the rules and regulations of the camp and at the end of the day, you will come out as a vibrant and gallant officers of the corps.

“You see the Man ‘O War, vigilante, hunters associations you belong to before is a voluntary organization, by the time you come out of this place, you become a government officials and you must strictly adhere to your vote of allegiance, I wish you the best, God bless you”, he prayed

Also, Executive Chairman of Owo local government, Mr Samuel Adedeji Adegbegi, congratulated the new officers, praying that God’s protection will never leave them as they carry out the assignment of securing the state.
