My memory about late Olu Adegboro —Mimiko mourns

….He was a great Nigerian

The immediate past governor of Ondo State, Dr Olusegun Mimiko, has described the death of a one-time commissioner for information and orientation in Ondo state, Prince Olu Adegboro, as a rude shock.

Mimiko who spoke on July 27, 2022 through his Special Assistant on Media and Digital Communications, John Paul Akinduro, said Adegboro was an accomplished gentleman whose contributions will be missed by all.

“I got to know Prince Adegboro in our student days in Ife (University of Ife) where he was not only the President of the National Union of Nigerians Students (NUNS) (now known as NANS) but also a leader of students groups across Africa. He was noted for his fiery, brilliant speeches, Pan-African and progressive views.

“It was not a surprise that he ventured into partisan politics where he also excelled in his position as commissioner in the cabinet of Chief Adebayo Adefarati, in which I also served, among others.

“From the highly illustrious Adegboro family of activists and political actors, he was also a very level-headed spokesman who worked tirelessly to promote the government of late Chief Adefarati in the best ways he could,” Mimiko in the statement said.

The former governor commiserated with the family of the departed and government and people of Ondo State.
