Ayede Ogbese community stood still yesterday for the grand graduation celebration of the very first batch of graduates of the Ayede Ogbese 1 Million Teachers Training Scheme.

The programme which was
facilitated by HRH Olori Olufunmilayo Nejo-Oluyede. You would recall that the Ayede Ogbese
1MT Training Scheme was formally launched on Saturday, 22nd January 2022 by HRM Oba Ajibola Oluyede, the Alayede of Ayede Ogbese (amongst other eminent dignitaries) as an integral part of the educational development plans of the kingdom.

The launch was immediately proceeded by the commencement of the training of the first batch of trainees, which today comprise well over 100 educators of the kingdom, under the benevolent sponsorship of HRH Olori Olufunmilayo Nejo-Oluyede, Ayede Ogbese’s globally renowned, industrious queen.

The graduation ceremony of the very first of its kind was held yesterday, Saturday 30th July, 2022 at the Royal Ranch, Ayede Ogbese, Akure North Local Government area of Ondo State.

1 Million Teachers (1MT) is an international programming partner for the development of trained, empowered teachers globally. The Canadian accredited organization (an education technology social enterprise) is currently attracting and training new teachers on a scale never before attempted within and beyond the shores of Nigeria.

The 1MT Course Schedule uniquely and effectively combines the rudiments of exceptional teaching skills with modern tools which are expertly designed to exponentially increase and enhance greater tutoring prospects. The course is also specially contrived to reach beyond practical tutoring skills to inspiring lifelong learners who consequently become confident and satisfied in their profession. Examples of the course modules and topics include Project Management, Inclusive Teaching, Entrepreneurship, Critical and Creative Thinking, Curriculum Design, Assessment
Guidelines et al.

In her humanitarian gesture and love for educational development, HRH Olori Olufunmilayo Nejo-Oluyede has partnered with the 1Million Teachers Training organization in building a
critical mass of highly trained and enterprising education change makers who will lead grassroots development within Ayede Ogbese and Ondo State.

While speaking with Coastal Renaissance news, Olori Olufunmilayo Nejo-Oluyede said, “Without qualified and motivated teachers, our children stand very little
chance of realizing their full potentials. There are, unfortunately, massive shortages of qualified and competent teachers across the world. The case is no different with us in both urban and rural areas of Ondo State and in Nigeria at large.

“We are all certainly in dire need of modern solutions to the long-standing problems of shortage of teachers in our various communities which engendered my partnership with the 1 Million Teachers Training organization to improve on the exceptional teaching skills of the teachers in Ondo State, especially, in Ayede Ogbese”.

In his word, HRM Oba Ajibola Oluyede expressed his royal gratitude to United Evangelical Church, Bolorunduro; United Evangelical Church, Ilu-Abo and Abbah Memorial Nursery and Primary School, Bolorunduro for their roles in ensuring the success of the programme through the gracious donation of the Graduation Robes used at the event FREE OF CHARGE.

He equally acknowledged and appreciated Corper Alex ogunche,
Corper James David and Corper Audu Friday for going out of their ways to contact these outstanding churches and school to source and obtain these robes 50 at very short notice.

In his keynote address, Chairman, Ondo State Civil Service Commission, Prince Ajose Kudehinbu thanked and appreciated HRM Oba Ajibola Oluyede, Ise Oluwa II, the Alayede of Ayede Ogbese, and his amiable wife, HRH Olori Olufunmilayo Nejo-Oluyede for being a sponsor/initiator of the edition of the Education Technology Enterprise Development of trained, empowered educationalists as an integral segment of the educational development plans of the Ayede Ogbese Kingdom.

While giving his remark, Olu of Kasemola, HRH Prof. Ebenezer Arifalo eulogised the humanitarian gestures of Oba Oluyede and his Olori, stressing that few people are qualified to be described as outstanding, and that, Ise Oluwa II and Olori Olufunmilayo are found in that category. He prayed that God should continue to grant them good health and protect their entire household. Prof Arifalo promised to join force with Oba Oluyede and his Olori to move Akure North Local Government to a greater height.

In the same vein, Special Adviser on Education to the Governor of Ondo State, Dr. (Mrs.) Wumi Ilawole applauded the efforts of Oba Oluyede and his Olori for improving on the quality education legacy of the Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN. She further confirmed that the Governor is always grateful to any individual or group of persons or company who keen into his vision and improve on his legacy. Dr. Ilawole encouraged Oba Oluyede and his Olori to increase the number of beneficiaries as God grants them the power and financial capability.

“Today, Oba Oluyede and his Olori have sponsored over 100 beneficiaries for the 1 Million Teachers Training Scheme, I hope that the number will be increased gradually to 500 and later to 1000 yearly, God willing”. Dr. Ilawole said.
