The Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Ondo State Council has congratulated a foremost Veteran Journalist and Olumoru of Imoru in Ose LGA, Oba Oluwarotimi Obamuwagun, as well as the Olowa of Igbara-Oke, Oba Adefarakanmi Agbede who is the Union’s Royal Patron, on their elevation from Grade B to First Class by the State Government.
This is part of the highlights of the Union’s monthly meeting held in Akure.
The union said, “that the Congress congratulates one of the foremost Veteran Journalist and The Olumoru of Imoru in Ose LGA, Oba Oluwarotimi Obamuwagun, as well as The Olowa of Igbara-Oke, Oba Adefarakanmi Agbede (Ondo NUJ Royal Patron), over their elevation from Grade B to First Class by the State Government.”
THE COMMUNIQUE ISSUED AT THE CONGRESS OF THE NIGERIA UNION OF JOURNALISTS (NUJ), ONDO STATE COUNCIL, HELD ON THURSDAY 25TH AUGUST, 2022 AT THE PRESS CENTRE, PEN CRESCENT, ALAGBAKA-AKURE
The Meeting was presided over by The Chairman, Prince Leke Adegbite and well-attended by members from the 11chapels while ONDO NUJ MONTHLY SPECIAL PRAYER was observed before the commencement of the Congress.

After extensive deliberations by members, the following decisions were taken;
- That the Congress grants the State Executives of the Union to set up process to ensure proper lease of the Guest House and the Bar at the NUJ Press Centre.
- That the Congress encourages the Union’s State leadership to fast track work on the proposed Second Phase of Ondo Pen Estate and urges subscribers of the First Phase of the Pen Estate to give priority to the development of their plots of land.
- That the Congress congratulates one of the foremost Veteran Journalist and The Olumoru of Imoru in Ose LGA, Oba Oluwarotimi Obamuwagun, as well as The Olowa of Igbara-Oke, Oba Adefarakanmi Agbede (Ondo NUJ Royal Patron), over their elevation from Grade B to First Class by the State Government.
- That the Congress also officially felicitates the Vice Chairman of NUJ State Information Chapel, Chief Charles Ayodeji Fatoki on his recent installation as the Olu Aladodo-Araromi in Akure South LGA.
- That the Congress expresses satisfaction with the Ondo State Government’s commencement of works on fixing portholes on feeder roads in Akure metropolis through the Ministry of Infrastructure, Lands and Housing. The Union enjoins the Ministry to extend the rehabilitation to major roads in the state capital.
