The School had recently during the 2022 World Teachers’ Day Celebration in Abuja emerged the overall Best Private School in the country as presented to Dr Oshin by President Muhammadu Buhari who was represented by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.

Receiving the School’s management team and pupils at the Ministry in Akure, the state Commissioner for Education and Technology, Pastor Femi Agagu congratulated Mummy’s Place school on the great achievement, noting that the school has really done the state proud worthy of being celebrated.

When Dr Oshin received the Award in Abuja.

While urging the school’s management not to relent in its efforts and academic excellence, Agagu expressed joy that schools and students from Ondo State have been doing very well in national educational competitions in recent years.

Presenting the Award, the Proprietress of Mummy’s Place School, Dr. (Mrs) Damilola Oshin, appreciated Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, the Commissioner as well as the Ondo State government for being there for the school and also, providing an enabling environment for the school to thrive and achieve the success.

Dr Oshin said, “the government provides an enabling environment for education to thrive. It all seems as if education is one of the primary goals of the government of the state. They support us with workshops, seminars, teacher’s trainings as well as coming to us to ensure that we do what we should do, they come all the time to monitor and that goes a long way in maintaining the standard.”

She added that the award is a challenge to spur on, to be focused and be authentic. “We will keep forging on, we will keep breaking through the barriers and we won’t relent in our works”.

“Education is everybody’s responsibility, we have children in school today who mostly are not even interested in learning because they have been distracted online through all these tik tok celebrities, so they want to be a celebrity all of a sudden and they are not ready to study, the celebrities also, in one way or the other encourage this which is really distracting the students. So, we parents, teachers, schools, the government have a part to play, we all need to have our hands on the desk.

“We should raise the moral standard of the children. The government should try as much as possible to keep the support on, we know we have dwindling resources and that’s where the private schools comes in, rich people, philanthropists should come in and help to lift the standard of education up by providing money, because money is essential in driving the education”, Dr Oshin said.
