THE PURPORTED COURT ORDER STOPPING THE RECOGNITION OR APPROVAL OF OBA JOHNSON KAYODE AJOMOLE; A MERE FIGMENT OF THE IMAGINATION OF MICHAEL AFELUMO AND HIS CO-DAYDREAMERS.
The attention of His Royal Majesty, Oba Johnson Kayode Ajomole (J.P) (Our Client) has been drawn to some mischievous online publications to the effect that the Ondo State High Court sitting in Akure has granted an Order barring the Ondo State Government from recognizing or approving the Kabiyesi as OBA OJOGBABIAKA of Ilado Community. The Order is said to have been made in Suit AK/78m/2022 instituted by one Kehinde Afelumo, who, probably out of sheer obsession for traditional beads and horsetail, has been going around deceiving unsuspecting members of the public that he is the “authentic” Olu of Ilado Community.
Our Client would have ignored the false and puerile story, since the people of Ilado Community know their King, and the King knows his people. The fact that the story is woven around a court order that has clearly been misrepresented however demands that our Client should set the record straight.
Contrary to the misleading story and misrepresentation of the ex parte Court order being touted by those who masterminded it, we hereby categorically state as follows:
Oba Johnson Kayode Ajomole (J.P) was the person who presented and strenuously defended the memorandum for the upgrading of the Olu of Ilado Chieftaincy before Hon. Justice C.E.T Ajama Judicial Commission of Inquiry on Chieftaincy Matters in Ondo State, whilst those who are now seeking to enter the palace through the backdoor were laughing him to scorn.
The Hon. Justice C.E.T Ajama Judicial Commission of Inquiry recommended the upgrading of the Olu of Ilado Chieftaincy title to the OJOGBARIAKA of Ilado in line with the memorandum presented by Oba Johnson Kayode Ajomole, and not “OBA OJOGBABIAKA”.
The Ondo State Government White Paper on Hon. Justice C.E.T Ajama Judicial Commission subsequently approved the upgrading of the Olu of Ilado chieftaincy title to the OJOGBARIAKA of Ilado, and not “OBA OJOGBABIAKA” as mischievously misrepresented by Michael Afelumo.
The Ondo State Government, vide a letter dated 27th October, 2022, had duly approved, recognized and/or appointed Oba Johnson Kayode Ajomale (J.P) as the OJOGBARIAKA of Ilado with effect from 24th August, 2022, and not as “OBA OJOGBABIAKA”. The instrument of Our Client’s appointment is attached for confirmation.
From the verifiable facts stated above, it is clear to every discerning mind that the ex parte Order being touted by Michael Afelumo and his faceless instigators relates to what they called “OBA OJOGBABIAKA” title, apparently coined from their self-acclaimed Ojogbabiaka Family name, and not the “OJOGBARIAKA OF ILADO” Chieftaincy title of His Royal Majesty, Oba Johnson Kayode Ajomole (J.P).
OJOGBARIAKA is not, and cannot be the same as OJOGBABIAKA. There is no order of Court relating to the OJOGBARIAKA OF ILADO.
Consequently, and for the avoidance of doubt, the installation rites and ceremonies accompanying the recognition, approval and/or appointment of Oba Johnson Kayode Ajomole (J.P) as the OJOGBARAIKA OF ILADO continue as scheduled.
Members of the public, including those chasing the shadow vide off-target and defective court actions, are cordially invited to join the people of Ilado Community in their unprecedented joyous celebration of their King.
They love their King, and the King loves his people. Fortunately, the law is for, and not against them.
