…..Olowo of Owo, NUC Boss Commission School’s New Auditorium, as Varsity Inducts 135 Graduated Nurses

The Olowo of Owo Kingdom, Oba Ajibade Gbadegesin Ogunoye III and Professor Abubakar Adamu Rasheed, the current Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission, NUC are in attendance when they inaugurated the newly constructed Auditorium of the Achievers University, Owo in Ondo State which was named in honour of Professor Abubakar Adamu Rasheed.
The commissioning was done by the foremost monarch after the Nigeria’s Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Prof. Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, had delivered the University’s 12th Convocation Lecture, titled; ”DIGITAL INNOVATION AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP AS A PANACEA TO UNEMPLOYMENT”.
The lecture was delivered at the University Auditorium, on Friday, 9th of December, 2022.
Oba Gbadegesin, who was the Chairman of the event, commended the Guest Lecturer, Management team, Parents and Students for gracing the occasion.
However, the Guest Lecturer, Prof. Pantami stressed that the problem of Nigeria is not unemployment, but unemployability among citizens, and therefore recommended the review of school curricula, skill acquisitions training, critical thinking, analytical thinking and mentorship of students, in becoming successful entrepreneurs.


The minister said ”Digital innovation and digital entrepreneurship aim to solving an existing problem and providing job opportunities for mankind.”
He admonished students not to rely on their certificates, but prioritise their attention on skill acquisitions, which will sustain them for a long time.
Also speaking at the lecture, the University’s Pro-Chancellor and Governing Council’s Chairman, Dr. Bode Ayorinde, expressed delight that the institution is making impactful strides in the last 15years, assuring that the university would continue to churn out best products that would add values to the society.
Dr Ayorinde appreciated the Minister for delivering the convocation lecture, that would go a long way in enriching the knowledge of students and graduates of the institution in becoming better individuals in years to come.
Meanwhile, earlier in the day, the institution inducted over 135 Graduated Nurses at the 3rd Induction Ceremony for the Academic Section.
Awards of different categories were given to some of the Inductees such as Overall Best Student in Academics, Best Behaved Student, Best Student in Leadership, Best Student in Community Health Nursing, Best Student in Pharmacology and more.
