First Class monarch, Owa-Ale inducted into “Hall of Fame as Most Outstanding Royal Father”

A First Class Monarch in Ondo State, the Owa-Ale of Ikare Akoko, Oba Adeleke Adegbite-Adedoyin II, has been honoured as the award of “The Most Outstanding Royal Father” of the year in the State and inducted into Oil Marketing Hall Of Fame.

The award was presented to the Traditional ruler at the Oil Africa Leadership Awards and Launching of Oil Africa Magazine International held at the International Event Centre, “The Dome” in Akure.

The award ceremony was also graced by prominent indigenes of Ondo State including the State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, who was represented by the state Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Chief (Mrs) Bamidele Ademola-Olateju as well as a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Chief Olusola Oke.

Presenting the Award to Owa-Ale organised by ghhj , the publisher of the magazine and coordinator of the award, Dr Akindele Egbuwalo said the monarch was selected for the honour in view of his meritorious community and excellent services to humanity.

He said since Oba Adedoyin was installed, he had used the stool to impact positively on his people and encourage cultural and communal development.

Egbuwalo said the annual event provided an opportunity for interaction and discussion about global solutions to underdevelopment.

The Coordinator congratulated the Kabiyesi and awardees who he described as men of honour, who have distinguished themselves in their fields, adding that with the award they are inducted into oil marketing hall of fame and have become ambassadors.

Responding, Owa-Ale Adeleke Adegbite-Adedoyin, expressed joy over the honour, noting that it would spur him to engage on more community development programmes and humanitarian services.

The Royal Father used the occasion to commend Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu for his administration’s various efforts at making the state one of the best in Nigeria in terms of Security and infrastructural revolution.

Owa-Ale also charged politicians and other stakeholders to ensure hitch-free and credible electoral process during the 2023 general election, cautioning candidates to shun violence during their ongoing campaigns nationwide.

While congratulating Awardees including the Owa-Ale, the Commissioner while representing the Governor who was the Chief Host at the event, explained that arrangemmets have been concluded for the payment of outstanding two months salaries.

She said the governor had q spent the oil revenue and 13 percent oil derivation, accrued to the state judiciously. 

Earlier, the Vice Chancellor of McPherson University and Guest Lecturer at the event, Prof. Francis Igbasan, decried the increased poverty level in the country, the situation he attributed to corruption and insensitivity of government to the needs of the people.

Also, the Chairman of the occasion and Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC Chief Olusola Oke, SAN, congratulated the awardees for the milestone achievements and urged them to see the honours as a call for more accomplishments, encouraging  others to step up their game in order to be counted worthy as recipients of the honour in the nearest future.

Those also awarded with various honours were; Oba Michael Ajijo, the Ogeloyinbo of Aiyetoro Community and Spiritual Majesty of Holy Apostle Church, Aiyetoro; CP Oyediran Owoyemi, the Ondo State Commissioner of Police; Hon Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the Chairman, House of Reps Committee on NDDC and Olorogun Eddy Olafeso PhD, as well as Barrister Olumuyiwa Adu and Hon. Barrister Abayomi Sheba.
