….Appointing BUA Cement Engineer As MD NIGCOMSAT: A Grave Error In Nation’s Sensitive Agency —Stakeholders lament
Series of Unpalatable reactions as well as intense public outcry both within and outside the country continue to trail the appointment of Engineer Tukur Mohammed Lawal Funtua, a BUA Cement Engineer as substantive Managing Director for (NIGCOMSAT) – a sensitive agency under the Ministry of communications and digital Economy.
Reacting to the alleged appointment of BUA Cement Engineer as NIGCOMSAT Boss by President Buhari, some concerned stakeholders in Nigeria and Diaspora described the appointment not only as a big slap to NIGCOMSAT but also an embarrassment to the entire nation as the newly appointed MD lacks the prerequisite skills in space technology.
The appointment which they also described as a square peg in round hole believed the grave error appointment most likely to have been done by cabal in the presidency without president Muhammad Buhari’s knowledge
The stakeholders, Prof. A Akeem from US and Dr Ishola Rahman both are experts in communication technology frowned at such undeserved appointment for BUA cement engineer as it ll greatly affect growth and development of NIGCOMSAT.
In their separate statement,they described the appointment as a square peg in round hole and called for the immediate reversal of the appointment by President Muhammad Buhari.
They however suggested the appointment of someone who has profound knowledge and experience in space technology as a better replacement so as to move the agency to enviable heights.
