….. Calls for proper disposal of PLASTIC WASTE in 2023.
The Ondo State Environmental Protection Agency (OSEPA), through the Special Adviser to the State Governor on Environment, Hon. Oyeniyi Oseni, has felicitated the people of the Sunshine State as they celebrate new year of 2023 in good health, urging them imbibe the right environmental attitudes in the new year.
In a new year message signed by the Acting Permanent Secretary in charge of OSEPA, Princess Giwa Akorede Abosede, the Special Adviser also congratulates Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, CON, his Lovely Wife, Chief Betty Akeredolu the Deputy Governor, Hon Lucky Aiyedatiwa and other Cabinet members for making it to the New year.
Hon Oseni therefore called on the residents of the State to shun poor attitude of disposing plastic waste indiscriminately, saying this will further nip environmental challenges bedeviling some residents in the bud.
He said the agency would intensify sensitisation against incessant pollution of waterways in the coastal areas of Ondo State.
The Special Adviser, noted that inhabitants must not be exposed to dangers and environmental hazards associated with improper disposal of plastic waste in year 2023, adding that OSEPA had produced some media jingle and designed programmes to effectively sensitize the public on the need to engage in environmental friendly activities at all time.
Hon Oseni, maintained that the agency is poised at reducing the pollution in the state in order to improve the health standard of our people and safe the aquatic lives in water ecosystem with a view to promote blue economy in the State in the new year of 2023.
The SA who acknowledged various massive support his office has been receiving from Governor Akeredolu to tackle environmental challenges, appealed to members of the public to support OSEPA efforts had ensuring Zero pollution Ondo state.
