ONDO SUBEB SETS UP MONITORING TEAMS AS SCHOOL RESUMES ON MONDAY FOR SECOND TERM
Ondo State Universal Basic Education Board, SUBEB has completed plans to monitor school resumption in Primary Schools across the State for the Second Term of 2022/2023 academic session commencing this Monday.
To this end the Executive Chairman, Rt Hon Victor Olabimtan has approved the setting up of Monitoring Teams to cover selected schools in nine of the eighteen Local Government Areas of the State to ensure a smooth takes off of the new term.
According to a document released by the Director of School Services, Mr Okedusi, Hon Olabimtan will lead Team -1,Team-2 by Full Time Member, FTM- 2 Hon Saka Yussfu Ogunleye. Team -3 has Princess Funmilayo Ademulegun-Brown as the leader while the State Coordinator of Universal Basic Education Commission, UBEC, Mrs Adams will lead Team -4
To ensure the success of the periodic exercise, apart from the fact that it will be conducted for two days – Monday and Tuesday, each of the four teams will monitor resumption activities in selected schools spreading across nine of the eighteen Local Government Areas in the State.
According to Okedusi Rt Hon Olabimtan will lead the Permanent Secretary Chief Dele Akinnagbe, Director School Services Okedusi and other officers to monitor Schools resumption in Okitipupa, Irele and Owo Local Government Areas of the State.
Further analysis of the document shows that,FTM -1 Princess Funmilayo Ademulegun – Brown will lead her Team to monitor resumption at Akure South and Ifedore Local Government Areas, FTM-2 Hon Saka Yussfu Ogunleye will be leading his team to Akoko South West and IleOluji/Oke -Igbo while UBEC State Coordinator Mrs Olanike Adams led team will monitor the exercise at Odigbo and Akure North Local Government Areas of the State.
Speaking earlier on the exercise that usually takes place at the begining of each academic term ,Hon Olabimtan said it was to ensure both Teachers and pupils are in the right frame of minds for the new term and to make sure the environment is conducive for academic exercise which is expected to commence immediately
According to the Executive Chairman of the Board, the periodic exercise provides the UBEC and the Board a veritable opportunity to have an accurate assessment of the State of each school to be visited and take the right and appropriate decisions to correct identified lapses and inadequacies.
He said since the intention of the exercise is to have an on the spot assessment of the State of each of the school, there is no need to list the schools to be visited during the exercise.
Meanwhile, daily monitoring of schools across the state will continue as we go into the term.
