SECURITY CHALLENGES: Tinubu Is Capable Of Ending The Menace If Elected – Engr. Bally tells Voters

The Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential campaign council for Ondo Central Senatorial District, Engr. Ayotunde Bally has told the electorates in Ondo central senatorial district during an interactive session with them that Asiwaju Bola Tinubu is the only presidential candidate that has the wherewithal to end the insecurity in the country, due to his unprecedented record made during his administration in Lagos on the issue of insecurity as the governor.
Engr. Ayotunde Bally alluded to this when he met with the people of Idanre and the coalition of Christians Leaders in Politics in collaboration with Yoruba Young Christians Leaders Forum, South-West Region, in Akure.
Recall that when Asiwaju was the governor of Lagos State, in a bid to reinvigorate the Lagos State Police Command, the Rapid Response Squad (RRS), came on stream in 1999 during his administration as a child of necessity, with a clear mandate to fight crime and make the state habitable for the citizenry and uninhabitable for unscrupulous criminal elements terrorising the state. The Rapid Response Squad (RRS) is a section of the Lagos State Police Command set up by Asiwaju to respond speedily to emergencies within Lagos State.
Today, the governors who are the Chief Security Officers of their states are clamouring for the State Policing system, to effectively fight the daunting task of insecurity challenges in the country, as the current centralised police formation system can not curtail the hydra-headed issue.
It is irrefutable that the closest thing to state policing started in Nigeria under Tinubu’s administration as a governor of Lagos state, with RRS in 1999. The reformation to curb the activities of criminals led to the conversion of Ita Oko Prisoners Camp into a Youth Skill Acquisition Centre. The Rapid Response Squad (RRS) is now the most performing police force in Nigeria. To make things work, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu created the Lagos security trust fund where the private sector comes together to invest in Lagos security in conjunction with the government.
On the need to safeguard the South West against the activities of the criminal elements and all forms of crimes against the people of the region, building on the security template that Asiwaju built to protect the lives and property of Lagosians, the six governors came together on 9 January 2020 in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria to establish Western Nigeria Security Network (WNSN) codenamed Operation Amotekun (Leopard or Cheetah), a security outfit based in all the six states of the South Western, Nigeria, responsible for curbing insecurity in the region. as the first regional security outfit initiated by a geopolitical zone in Nigeria, after legislation by the State Houses of assembly.
Today, among the six geo-political zones in the country, South West is the most safest and secure zone; and this is connected to the security foundational structure and road map laid down by Asiwaju in taking the security of lives and property of his people as primacy when he was governor of Lagos.
According to the 2022 insecurity deaths by zone, released by the DailyTrust newspaper, through Nigeria Security Tracker: North West with 3,049, North East with 2,538, North Central with 2,123, South-South with 397, South East with 627 and South West with 299, least deaths zone in the country.
“It is now evident that if allowed to become Nigeria’s next President, Asiwaju’s security track record and the template formulated will help us to tackle the spate of insecurity bedevilling the country” – Engr. Bally added
The Rapid Response Squad [RRS] by the Tinubu Administration, was charged with the onerous task of flushing crime out of every part of Lagos State. Asiwaju Bola Tinubu is ready to replicate this as President, to ensure all forms of criminality and insecurity are flushed out of Nigeria.
