Akeredolu’s SA, Hon Falana strategizes on Gender issues in illegal Immigration

HON OLAMIDE FALANA BEMOANS GENDER ISSUES IN ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION

…seeks partnership with Diaspora relations

Immigrants who travel through illegal routes have been described as a burden on the Society.

This was disclosed by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Gender, Hon Olamide Falana at a Partnership visit to the Ministry of Regional Intergration and Diaspora.

Olamide Falana decried the rate at which poachers lure vulnerable citizen of the State especially the Female Gender, into Modern Day Slavery, sex trade and for various other reasons.

‘Such victims cannot be meaningfully productive under very extreme condition of living not right for human existence. They will only become a burden to themselves and others related to them’

She further stated that there is need to collaborate with the Ministry to stem the negative route of Human Trafficking which is already affecting the Society negatively.

The Governor’s aide solicited collaboration with the Ministry in sensitizing the Public on legal process of Migration.

Commissioner for Regional Intergration and Diaspora, Prince Boye Ologbese, alongside other Management Staff, lauded the Partnership visit while describing it as timely.

Prince Ologbese assured the support of the Ministry to make the partnership framework with Ondo Gender Office achievable.

Speaking on same page, the Commissioner explained that there are better routes to travel abroad and be good Ambassador of the State.

He added that there is dire need to partner with the Gender Office enlightenment Programme on Radio to change the narrative of migration in the Sunshine State stressing the importance of possessing an International Passport as a vital traveling Documents for Imigrants.

‘It is the fear of the uncertain that led to the Japa syndrome. We as a Ministry only supports Legal Migration. We don’t want a situaton whereby our Sons and Daughters are having issues outside the shore of the State, it becomes a burden on us’

The Commissioner thereafter commended the Governor of the State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu (SAN), CON for stressing the core value of synergy and working-relationship among MDAs to achieve the REDEEMED Agenda of the Administration.
