Fuel, Naira Scarcity: Nigerians are seriously suffering, they must vote APC govt out —Ondo PDP

….As Kunlere, Adams, Jegede seek votes for Atiku

The leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State, has lamented what can be described as a serious suffering of Nigerians under the present administration of the All Progressives Congress (APC), advising them to vote them out during the forthcoming 2023 general election.

The leaders of the main opposition party including its State Chairman, Hon. Fatai Adams, the former Governorship candidate, Mr Eyitayo Jegede, SAN; the Former PDP Southwest Zonal Publicity Secretary, Mr Ayo Fadaka as well as the Ondo State Director of the Atiku/Okowa Presidential Campaign Council, Senator Boluwaji Kunlere made the call in Akure during an interactive session with journalists in Akure, the State capital on Thursday.

Adams who lamented what he called wicked hardship the citizens are being subjected to with long queues for new naira notes, fuel and PVCs, enjoined them to vote for former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and other PDP Candidates in the coming polls to enable PDP administration returns to power to revamp the nation’s economy, security, and address other challenges.

The PDP Chairman said, “You can see what Nigerians are witnessing now. There’s scarcity of fuel and money. This is unacceptable and we urge Nigerians to reject the APC at the polls.”

Adams lamented the tyrannical situation of Nigeria which according to him was created by the ruling APC with untold hardships on the citizens of the country.

“Things are very worst in the country under APC, we now have ATM queues, petrol station queues, PVC queues. I employ Nigerian citizens to get their PVCs ready to vote out APC and elect Atiku Abubakar for president for a new dawn”, he said.

According to the Vice-Chairman of the Atiku/Okowa presidential campaign council in the state, Mr Eyitayo Jegede (SAN), “the PDP is very concerned about Nigeria because every day the country is going down. We are not perfect, but the hardship is much and unbearable. The economy is nosediving. The best of APC is not good for Nigeria and they are taking steps in the negative direction to address the worsening situation of our economy.

“The cost of building materials and the cost of living are unbearable. For the sake of the nation, the success of Nigeria depends on all of us, we can’t continue like this.”

“Our people are going through a lot of suffering and difficulties. Our children who are used to riding the school shuttle buses in the State at a time now know the difference between the PDP government and the present one. Same for the pregnant women who benefitted from healthcare services in the State during the PDP days.

“We can all see what the APC government has done, but it is not enough. Their best is not good at all. We are all aware of the challenges we’re facing now and it is my belief that Nigerians will reject the APC at the general elections,” Jegede said.

Also speaking, the Director General of the Atiku-Okowa Campaign Council in the State, Senator Boluwaji Kunlere enumerated the values the PDP added to the Nigerian economy when it was in power.

According to Kunlere, in the past years, PDP was responsible for the present technological driven economy that has benefitted the common man today.

“Let me thank the leadership of the party for my appointment and reposing confidence in me on this new assignment. I don’t want to talk too much because journalists know the truth. The APC presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu has said it all while in Abeokuta. He already said that Nigerians should vote out APC. He also lamented in Calabar that the exchange rate of N200 naira per dollar left by the PDP government is now $1 against N800.

“When we were in power, we upscaled the telecommunications sector and it provided jobs for millions of Nigerians. Today, that sector has open the country to the world through its Internet service and other benefits,” Kunlere said.

Earlier, former PDP Director of Publicity in the State, Ayo Fadaka, tasked the media professionals on objective reportage of the Nigerian situation.

Fadaka appealed to them to set agenda for the coming elections by encouraging Nigerians to come out and vote and not be intimidated.

Other PDP stalwarts at the media session include; former Speaker, Dr Bakkita Bello; PDP State Secretary, Seye Olujimi; Bode Obanla; Mrs Fadoju, Prince Adebisi Gold; Folorunso Makinde who is the PDP state youth leader; Mr Leye Igbagbo who is the PDP State Director Of Media and publicity.
