Training has commenced for Facilitators in Ondo State for the smooth implementation of the Federal Government At Risk Children Project Programme in the State.
About 600 youths cropped from the 18 Local Government Areas in the State are camped at the Government Technical College, Owo for a 3-weeks training.
The projects which seeks to reach out to vulnerable children and unemployed youths under age 24 across the LG in the State is a Federal Government iniative programme.
Special Adviser to the Governor on Gender, Olamide Falana in her welcome address, emphasized that the State Government had adopted modalities and engaged Resource Persons from various MDAs to equip facilitators with requisite information needed to carry out their duties at the grassroot effectively.
Representative from the office of the Vice President, Omoniyi Ekebo In her remarks at the Camp, disclosed that the At-Risk Children Programme, is a timely intervention that offers a multi-dimensional, broad-spectrum approach to the conditions of the vulnerable in the Society.
ARC-P is an ambitious and strategically designed initiative of the Federal Government under the office of the Vice President and led by the Special Adviser to the President on Social Investment, Hajiya Maryam Uwais.
The programme is designed to be a solution to the prolonged and well-documented vulnerabilities of children and Youths below 24yrs, who have lacked social protection and the luxury of basic formal education.
