Saturday’s Akoko South Reps polls: Don’t be deceived, LP’s Adeyeri is on INEC ballot

PRESS STATEMENT

Don’t be deceived, LP’s Adeyeri is on INEC list —Campaign Organisation

Our attention has been drawn to a mendacious narrative making the round in some quarters, being trumped and peddled by mischievous elements that the name of the Labour Party candidate, for Akoko South West and Akoko South East Federal Constituency, Adeyeri Stephen Kunle, is missing on the list published by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Ordinarily, we remained unperturbed by the pseudo claim orchestrated by the black sheep deliberately distorting the incontrovertible fact, but the avalanche of calls by our concerned and ardent supporters spurred us to put up this piece so as to clear the air because of those taken aback by the wrong narrative.

As reported by Guardian newspaper and other national dailies on February 3, 2023, Justice Inyang Edem Ekwo of the Federal High Court Abuja, ordered INEC to open its website for the purpose of allowing the LP to submit list of its candidates or accept same manually with immediate effect for the purpose of the forthcoming elections.

Leaving all these apparent facts to proceed on mere lies, is a clear indication that sponsors of this propaganda have something up their sleeves.

To set the record straight, evidently, Adeyeri was invited a few days ago to a meeting by INEC, if his name was missing, the unbias electoral umpire won’t extend an invite to him.

Some evil persons which can be tag as enemies of this Constituency are the ones peddling this rumor.

They are vigorously pushing the false tale because of the prognostication of their implicit defeat in the February 25 general election, ergo, the need to canvass it becomes their unprofitable business.

We urged our unwavering supporters to be resolute and keep the erroneous claim at arm’s length and continue to work for the undisputed victory of our popular candidate, Adeyeri Stephen, because he is much in the race.
