As Nigerians join the world at celebrating Easter, former Zenith Labour Party Deputy Governorship candidate in Ondo state, Engr. Gboye Adegbenro has appreciated the contributions of the media to nation development and successful conduct of the 2023 general election in the country.
Speaking at his country home, Ilara-Mokin while interacting with some journalists, he salutes the courage of the media as always been at the forefront of development without any colouration.
Adegbenro, who was also a former Works Commissioner in the state noted that the media play key roles at setting and monitoring positive agenda for nation development.
He therefore tasks the media practitioners not to relent in their efforts as the forth estate of the realm at seeing that the present democratic structures in the country continue to strive , through their various reportage.
He noted that the political class are very cautious of the importance of the media as a virile tools for the nation development, hence can not afford to toil with the media.
In his response, the Chairman Ondo state council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists,(NUJ), Prince ‘Leke Adegbite appreciated the former Commissioner for his usual love and cordiality with the media.
Adegbite said the media in the state shall continue to live up to expectations, without compromising or biased in the duties and abide by professionalism.
