Grand Mufti of Ondo State, Alhaji Dr Sheikh Surajudeen Batuta, on behalf of Muslims in Ikare-Akoko, has expressed gratitude to the Almighty Allah over a crisis-free Eid-el-Fitr celebration.
This was contained in a message he personally signed and made available to Journalists in Akure on Saturday.
He particularly thanked the Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN, for always providing a peaceful environment suitable for religious harmony.
The Grand Mufti (Alfa Agba), who lauded the Governor for delegating his Deputy, Hon Lucky Aiyedatiwa to act in his capacity while he proceeded on his Annual Leave, prayed that the Governor meets everyone in peace.
“Let me also use this medium to commend the Acting Governor for his commendable role towards ensuring that peace continues to reign in Ikare-Akoko and across the Sunshine State.
He, however, enjoined the Muslim community in Ikare to continually support the Akeredolu’s-led administration to enable it succeed in taking the state to higher heights of transformation and development
“We are using this medium to inform all of us at Ikare to always support this government so they can succeed in their promises to further transform and we must also abide by its laid down rules so that the government can also respect our opinions.
“I also want us to imbibe the spirit of resolving our differences amicably and with utmost love, so as to continually promote love in Ikare and Ondo State in general”, he appealed.
Sheik Batuta, in the same vein, advised outsiders not to interfere in issues that does not concern them and must not in any way, destabilize Ikare community
“Ikare Akoko citizenry can resolve their differences amicably and I want to admonish outsiders against any interference that can cause violence or disparity but rather, they should join hands to ensure peace continues to reign in Ikare and Ondo State”, he said.
