10th NASS: Ondo Speaker, political leaders rejoice with new Reps member Adefiranye

It was a gathering of who is who and political bigwigs across Ondo state on Sunday as they all converged on Oke-Igbo in Ile oluji/ Oke-Igbo local government area of the state to celebrate the lawmaker representing odigbo/ ile-oluji Oke-Igbo federal constituency at the house of representatives, Hon. Festus Adefiranye.

The Inauguration ceremony was witnessed by the speaker, Ondo state house of assembly, Oladimeji Oladiji, who led other state lawmakers as well as the commissioner for finance, Mr Wale Akinterinwa among others political bigwigs in the state.

Others eminent personalities included royal fathers in the federal constituency, religious leaders and other political leaders as they were entertained by popular juju musician, Demola Suzi.

In a remarks, the speaker Ondo state house of assembly, Oladimeji Oladiji urged the lawmaker to continue his good jobs he was known for when he was in the house of assembly.

The speaker said, “My advice for him is to continue to represent his people. He has been doing well in odigbo and oke Igbo local governments because people have been saying good things about him. God will continue to bless him.

“I also want to encourage him not to be far from his people and continue to deliver the dividends of democracy to his people.”

Speaking, Adefiranye who was overwhelmed with joy said, “ I give glory to Almighty God for giving me the opportunity to represent my people. I appreciate all of the leaders and the people of my constituency for giving me their votes to represent them at the house of representatives.

“The expectations are very high because I am the first person in my community in Oke-Igbo to get to that position. What they expect from me is much  but by the grace of God,I will try and do my best.

“My statutory duty is to make laws. The laws that will add value to my constituency, the people of Ondo state and Nigerians at large and I will make sure I engage in empowering youths because I am committed to developing human capital. If the youths have jobs, there won’t be crisis in such community.

“I will ensure I give empowerment to the youths, the widows and the old people.”

Various political and social groups appreciated the lawmaker with presentation of gifts at the event.

Hon. Festus Adefiranye was a member ondo state House Of Assembly between 2019 and 2023 as the Deputy Chief Whip of the house before he was voted again to represent the federal constituency of odigbo/ile-oluji Oke-Igbo federal constituency at the House of Representatives in the last election.
